I love pie. I like to bake it, eat it and even, when I’m feeling generous, give it away. But it’s tough to ship a pie, and giving a whole pie to one person isn’t the best idea (nor is healthy to eat an entire pie on your own).
I started making pies in single-serving, half-pint jars as gifts for business contacts and friends. They have been universally loved and devoured. They are easy to ship and are perfect for lunchboxes, teachers’ gifts, birthdays and special treats.
